Friday's conundrum (again)

Today's Friday Conundrum is quite simple: who really needs a slap?

My list is obviously endless, with Hazel Blears at the top, but taking in people with hairstyles, Tories, entire categories such as advertising and PR workers, 4x4 drivers, litterbugs, UKIP, anyone who uses their mobile telephone as a music player, Steve Quitterill…

Good lists, you two. Ewarwoowar - you seem to have covered basically everybody. I'm a socialist. Why do you want to give me a slap? I agree with the people I recognise, though I would point out that Fowler supported the Liverpool Dockers.

I'll make a special allowance in your case Voley.

I actually did a political test thing on Facebook (so it must be true) and it turns out I'm a raging socialist as well.

That's a relief!

I'd say your University Governors and Vice Chancellor by the sounds of things, but first prize would have to go to Antony Steen MP for the immortal words 'What right does the public have to interfere in my private life? None.' and also for saying it's not his fault he's been caught but rather Labour's for introducing the Freedom of Information Act. I'll resist rants about the powers that be interfering in the private life's of members of the public whenever they see fit (Andrew Wood being the latest example) as the Tories are apparently against such things (it'll be interesting to see how many of the three thousand plus new criminal offences that contravene civil liberties that Labour have introduced while in power will be repealed by the Tories when they get in - see Iain Dale's article in the Guardian today)and instead say to Mr Steen you hold PUBLIC office, and are claiming taxpayer's money, in other words PUBLIC money, I think they may have a right to be interested in how you spend it. As for his outrage at the Freedom of Information Act, we can see this is solely because it caused his gravy train to crash. Runner up prize goes to Nadine Dorries MP for comparing sustained media interest to 'a McCarthyite witch-hunt', I mean, where do you begin with how wildly innaccurate and deeply insulting such a claim is?! I'm taking deep breaths and counting to ten. 1, 2, 3........

Kate, that's quality, top-class ranting. And utterly correct.

Ewarwoowar: hands off Shami! She's a brave defender of our civil liberties.

Ewarwoowar said...

Shami is a smug, interfering, annoying waste of oxygen.

Damn! I forgot to put Lauren Laverne on the list, just to send you and Merciless Public into hives. Remind me next time.

Woah, sunshine. Stop right there.

Malcolm Glazer anyone?

According to this facebook thing I'm a mild socialist, a supporter of New Labour.

I would like to append my list with tickets touts. AM trying to get tickets to a sold out gig and all ones on EBAY are going at twice the price.
I am disappointed in myself that I picking out groups rather than individuals.

Ewarwoowar, you merely shame yourself further every time you put hand to keyboard!

Merciless - despite your dirty New Labour soul, Malcolm Glazer definitely deserves a place.

Emma - we understand your frustration. What gig? Name more names!
