They haven't gone away, you know

Keep an eye on Egypt: the army is finding it difficult to adapt to a population demanding something like liberal democracy. Strike have been banned, broadcasters have been ousted from Tahrir Square and the signs are that the transition to democracy will be partial and/or slow.

Meanwhile, protests are continuing in Iran, Yemen and elsewhere.

My top list of plutocratic tyrants requiring defenestration:

Saudi Arabia
Kuwait
Algeria
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan
UAE
North Korea
Italy
News Corporation
Canada (where Prime Minister Harper suspends Parliament whenever he thinks he'll lose a vote).
